In today’s recipe we are making smoking Yellow Tail Hot Dogs in the Masterbuilt Smoker. That's right...smoked hot dogs in red wine! This recipe only takes 10 minutes to prepare and then 1 hour 20 minutes to smoke. Let's get started making some of the best smoked hot dogs you've ever had.
• 6 - 10 hot dogs
• 1, 750 ML Bottle Yellow Tail Shiraz Wine
• 8 ounces roughly chopped mushrooms
• 4 tablespoons butter
• 1 green pepper sliced
• 1 yellow onion sliced
• 6 – 10 cheese buns (or other buns)
Recipe Instructions (based on a recipe from the Masterbuilt Smoker website).
Add the 4 tablespoons of butter to a baking pan. Add the onion, green pepper and mushrooms. Then add the wine.
Set the Masterbuilt Electric Smoker to 225 degrees F and add some peach wood chips (or your favorite wood chips). When the Masterbuilt reaches temperature, put the baking pan with the wine and vegetables on the bottom rack. Add the hot dogs to a different rack.
Smoke for 40 minutes, then add the hot dogs to the wine and vegetable mixture and smoke for another 40 minutes.
Remove from the Masterbuilt Smoker and build-up your hot dogs on the buns.
