Dark Chocolate Mayan Truffles
Chocolate originated in the Central and equatorial South America region and it was there that the Mayans became the world’s first chocolate lovers. The Mayans didn’t make chocolate bars that you and I have come to love, but instead ground the cacao beans into a paste and mixed with spices, water and chili peppers to create a variety of hot drinks. The Mayans drank these spicy, chili pepper and chocolate drinks for its invigorating, health qualities.
Armadillo Pepper’s handcrafted Dark Chocolate Mayan Truffles were created in honor of the ancient and advanced Mayan culture. The center of our Mayan Truffle includes a ganache made with cinnamon and chili pepper. We then cover the ganache center in an outer layer of rich, dark chocolate and top with pepper flakes.
The flavor of our Dark Chocolate Mayan Truffle starts with cinnamon, then creamy, rich chocolate and finishes with a kick from the chili peppers.
Each spicy, decadent Mayan Truffle is handmade. 12 pieces packed in a black, quilted-pattern box with decorative ribbon.
